The Stonehaven Tourism Group is now a sub-committee of Stonehaven Business Association having originally been formed as part of the Stonehaven It's Special Group in 2005.

Frank Budd took over as Chairman of this group from George McGillivray in April 2008 and the Tourism Group normally meets on the 3rd Monday of each month at the Station Hotel at 7.30pm to discuss local issues and ways to promote the town.

Over the last few years the Group has created leaflets and maps to promote the town and organised training courses for tourist businesses.

An updated Walking Map will be produced in 2013.

Representatives of the Business Association and Tourism Group have been involved in the Steering Group to consider proposals for Queen Elizabeth Caravan Park.

In 2012 a Lease Agreement was finalised between Aberdeenshire Council and Stonehaven Town Partnership to sub lease the park to the Caravan Club who will invest 1.8 million on improvements between October 2012 and May 2013.
