Stonehaven Business Association was formed in 1973.The membership now stands at around 130 members representing all sectors of business in Stonehaven and environs, including retail, industrial, tourism, commercial and more. Following a business survey of Stonehaven businesses in 2004 , the opinions obtained have resulted in Stonehaven Business Association (SBA) being involved in many groups who are working in the town including:-
Stonehaven Its Special: The Events Group consists of many of the larger events in Stonehaven, working together to obtain sponsorship and support.
The Horizon Project has been improving the environment locally through floral displays, litter clean ups, the Beechgrove Garden Project and many other environmental improvements. Go to website for more information.
image3| Stonehaven Farmers and Produce Market: Held the first Saturday each month from 9am-1pm next to the Market Square. The producers offer excellent quality local produce, including meat, vegetables, jams and pickles, plants and much more.
Stonehaven Tourism Group This group operates within the Business Association to promote Stonehaven and the surrounding area in Kincardine and The Mearns.

Towns Together Forum enables inter-town co-operation and working together on projects. It has been established through ATP and now exists in its own right. Ten towns are involved at present including Inverurie, Fraserburgh, Banchory, Peterhead, Turriff. Projects already undertaken include promoting Aberdeenshire to international buyers at VisitScotland Expo 2004, 2005 in Aberdeen and 2006 in Glasgow and 2007 in Edinburgh.
Aberdeenshire Towns Partnership(ATP) the town had been part of ATP from 2000 to 2007 ATP have provided funding to enable improvements across the town including the baywalk, the railway station, the Business Support Officer post, funding for the above groups and more. SBA were represented at all the local meetings.
Christmas Lights are provided each year by the SBA through extensive fundraising activities and membership fees
Continental Markets The Business Association has been responsible for bringing Contintal Markets to the town and they have proved popular with locals and visitors from surrounding areas. In 2010 Market will be held on the last weekend in June Sat/Sun 26th/27th.
Mearns Community Radio The Business Association is represented on Mearns Community Radio Group who have recenly been granted a licence to broadcast from three transmitters in Stonehaven, Laurencekirk and Inverbervie and they started broadcasting in June 2009.
